This active Teen committee was established in 2009 as a way of getting Teens more active in outdoor recreational activities. The park district then received a $25,000 Grant to assist with the program and to date, this committee has planned over 20 trips and have participated in over 20 community events.
The program also received a state parks award for our “Leave No Trace” program that the teens were able to take to the local elementary schools to implement.
The committee meetings are TBD. Committee members and trip participants also receive a TALC shirt as part of the membership.
